SINGER-SONGWRITER BIO

Finn Anderson is an award nominated Scottish singer-songwriter, as well as a theatre-maker and composer. Described by BBC 6 Music’s Tom Robinson as “a great songwriting talent” his songs combine folk, jazz and pop influences with his penchant for the theatrical and knack for poetic storytelling.

The Uncharted Lands EP was released in February 2016 accompanied by a Living Room Tour which saw Finn hosting 40 intimate shows in households and gardens throughout the UK. The Oceanic EP was released in April 2017, with singles 'When He's Away' and 'Some Days’ featuring on BBC 6 Music's LGBT Mixtape and Introducing shows, as well as regional and online stations globally. Festival appearances include Big Tent, Belladrum, MugStock, the Edinburgh Fringe and Celtic Connections.

Raised in Fife on the east coast of Scotland, Finn spent his early teens staging self-penned theatre productions at the local Byre Theatre. Using the profits to build a home studio, he had released two EPs before leaving school age 16 to study Music. Now based in Glasgow, Finn combines solo songwriting with writing and composing for theatre, film, dance, circus and art projects throughout the UK and internationally.

Collaborative projects include work with acclaimed Scottish video artist Rachel Maclean, Venice Biennale, Tate Britain, National Galleries Scotland, Sky Arts, Citizens Theatre, Glasgow Film Festival, Scottish Dance Theatre and the American Music Theatre Project. His work has been nominated for the Off West End and BroadwayWorld.com awards for Best New Musical.

“Beautiful”

(Jim Gellatly, Amazing Radio, on 'Hitchcock')

“Even without listening to Finn Anderson’s music, you could tell that he has something about him… Impressive doesn’t quite cover it…. Finn’s skilful use of poetic storytelling, in tandem with his knowledge of musicality, simply steal you away into a world of his own making”

(Fresh On The Net)

"Finn Anderson could be called a musical miracle child. Already at the age of 14 he made his own recording studio in his parents' house, at 16 he had already released two EPs and moved on to music studies. Today the Scotsman is 24 years old, composes musicals and film music. Thank god there is still time for his own projects."

(Breitband)

“Can one start the week more beautifully than with this voice… his music has an aura of professionalism and affability which is all too often absent… A wonderful new discovery”

(Sound Kartell)

"Finn does not let the record have a single dull moment, which stands testament to his songwriting abilities."
